Welcome to the Island Paradise of Boracay
The idea of the perfect beach comes to you unbidden, perfected by Hollywood and travel postcards: beaches that stretch as far as the eye can see, beaches with sand as soft as powder, with waters as blue as summer sky. What you have yet to realize is that the hype is true, that there is a beach which turns this famed stereotype into reality. Welcome to Boracay, Philippines.
Touted as one of the best beaches in the world, Boracaynever fails to disappoint those who set foot on its pristine shores. Take a dip beneath its blue, inviting waves and discover why many are eager to call this place paradise.
Located just 2km off the tip of Panay, an island in the Philippines’ Western Visayas region, scenic Boracay is a bustling hub of activity. From the eighties when it was first thrust into the limelight up until this day Boracay has consistently gained a reputation as one of the country’s most popular tourist destinations, if not its most popular beach. One would not need to wonder why. The powdery-white beaches and crystal-clear waters attract a mix of holiday-makers, both foreign and local, from honeymooners and backpackers seeking some privacy to large families and groups eager for exciting water sports and endless parties. Lonely Planet even dubs Boracay as ‘an intoxicating mix of sun, sand and nonsobriety.’
Over the years, the number of international tourists that continuously flock to Boracay has turned the island into a melting pot of flavor. A casual walk down the beach can introduce you to quaint English breakfast nooks to French cafes to exotic Greek, German, and Asian restaurants.
Its famous White Beach is a 4-km stretch of resorts, restaurants, bars, and shops, each buzzing with excitement and promising endless hours of fun. Restaurants with exotic cuisine sit next to places that offer thrilling water sports adventures. At night, the beach turns into a hip party place, with music spilling out from the bars and filling the cool night air.
Getting to Alta Vista de Boracay is easy. You can fly from Manila to Kailbo (45 minutes) or Caticlan (30minutes). Then from the Kalibo Airport, it’s a 90-minute drive to Caticlan Jetty, where boats will be available to take you to the island. You’ll find Alta Vista de Boracay set on top of lush hillside at Brgy.
